Full range of discrete tactile ground surface indicators (TGSI's) compliant with AS/NZS 1428.4.1-2009/ BCA. TGSI's in our discrete range incorporate proven quality properties of high mechanical strength, lasting durability & aesthetic appeal. Buy direct from manufacturer/ stockist. Laboratory test results available on request. Slip resistance results are obtained in accordance with AS 4586:2013 (slip resistance classification of new pedestrian surface materials). LRV and slip resistance test reports available on request.
General installation information: 400 X discrete TGSI's will cover 1 SQM of area (eg. an area 1.2m X 0.6m will require 288 X units). Typically tactile indicators are set back 300mm from step or ramp, and installed 600mm deep (sometimes 300mm or 800mm, refer to AS for specific scenario applications), they should span the width of path of travel. Discrete TGSI's are installed with spacings 50mm apart centre to centre. We offer drilling templates to suit all TGSI's in our range, Use of drilling templates make installing TGSI's, a simple task, that generally does not require specialist tools (Note: a small diameter core drill is need to drill into hard ceramics) or skills. The process generally involves positioning template, drilling holes, vacuum out dust from holes, fixing in TGSI's in place.

12mm long X 6mm wide stem (recommended for installation direct to hard solid material, eg. concrete, tile, stone, woods, hard vinyl etc). Use of single component adhesive/ sealant (eg. Bostik Seal N Flex FC) is generally used to fix this model to ground surface material, proving very strong (superior) long term fixation.
25mm long X 8mm wide stem (recommended for installation direct to bitumen/ asphalt.
Flat based stainless steel discrete TGSI, direct epoxy fix to hard flooring material (recommended for fixing to ceramic tiles/ hard stone/ terrazzo in interior locations only). Use high quality construction grade epoxy adhesive (eg. Megapoxy PM, apply an anount of approx 5c piece/ TGSI)

Installation information (flat based discrete tactiles, hard surfaces (ceramic/ stones):
(For fixing to ceramic tiles and hard stone flooring where drilling is not desired. Recommended for interior locations only).
It is recommended to conduct a test application (trial test area) to ensure compatibility, prior to undertaking mass installation.
1. Clean substrate thoroughly and allow to dry completely (use acetone when possible).
2. Position flat based laying template in required position.
3. Apply small amount of suitable high quality epoxy adhesive (approx. sixe of 10 cent piece) to substrate in centre of template holes.
4. Place flat based tactile on top of adhesive/ template hole/s and rotate tactile to get even adhesive coverage.
5. Remove/ lift template.
5. Allow 1-2 hours for adhesive to set (depending on type of adhesive used).

Installation information (stem based discrete tactiles, hard surfaces):
It is recommended to conduct a test application (trial test area) to ensure compatibility, prior to undertaking mass installation.
1. Securing templates: Lay drilling templates in correct position. Drill a hole in the substrate via each corner of the drilling template. Secure each corner of template to the newly drilled holes with use of plastic nozzle or other suitable device.
2. Preventing templates from moving during drilling can also be reinforced by the weight the installers foot. Check for alignment of holes in drilling template with newly drilled holes in substrate during the drilling process.
3. Proceed with mass drilling, when using multiple templates, the templates can be moved after drilling is complete and re-aligned with the next secured template.
4. After drilling is complete, remove drilling templates, and vacuum out dust and debris from the newly drilling holes and surrounding surface. Wipe surface with clean rag and acetone if suitable.
5. Apply adhesive inside the holes and the surrounding surface of the hole in order to provide fixation for stem and the underside of the tactile indicator with the substrate.
6. Insert tactile studs into holes and apply and downward twisting force to the tactile indicator so that the bottom of the tactile indicator lays flush with substrate. (note: adhesive should be applied in correct amount to minimise overflow from sides of tactile indicators whilst providing enough adhesive to ensure durable strong bond.
